TAKING ACCOUNT OF THE HUMMINGBIRDS

Aug 1, 2010

Taking Account of the Hummingbirds

        Taking a second look,
did I say second, or third.. ~
There are many hummingbirds here I've realized.
Perhaps as many as four families.

There is Zither who sings as he comes in,.
There is King Pin who has the longest beak
        so colourful he is.
There's Tuxedo Ted a bit smaller,
so very handsome a young boy.

There is Zoomer, must I explain.
        And we can't forget, Zipper,
who flies so quick and direct,
then comes to a sudden halt !
There is Zephyr  who sorts out all the others,
he flies as fast as the wind.

And then the girls, let's not forget.
There is Lilliput , the tiniest of all,
        with the shortest beak.
The sweet little girl, Pert Petite.
        There is Zesta so delicate,
        so swift is she.

There is Lithe Lady so very dainty.
Then there is Lillith, so coquette,
        so pretty is she.
        Last is Laissez faire,
        so happy and free.

These are the ones I've come to know,
        so swift and so keen.
        Each arrive at my feeder,
        so ravenously,
to entertain and keep me busy,
providing nectar for them, so sweet..
