"The Long Wait"
Soft bark of wooden tree, touch the sky, and all wonders of things. Tender leaves beckon, in their calling out to me. Darkening then and growing dim, the light of night, appears before me, Glimmering in a moon so bright, it glows in the night that all around, fades to darker still. The wooded glade, so solemn, in this peaceful scene, fades into a misty dream, of starry skies and the eyes of night. In shadows that move and glide, a-dance in the night. Spirits are they perhaps, of people or trees ... I can only gaze and wonder, upon the mysteries. And then, I am drawn back to the sentinel tree and the stars over-head, beam down upon me, as I wait and wait. Yet still ... I Believe.
And the fairy ring and the deer at the stream and the bending boughs and the winding path, emerge from the reaches of history and they are of the legends, that tell the story. There is the garden gate, opening to the path. It is the one gate. The beginning is the end and the end, the beginning. A gateway to a temple of wisdom rising to the heaven. Shining a beacon toward the sky. Drawing in of wisdom. Opening our eyes.
Even the deer look up in wait. And the little skiff sits empty and adrift, on the lake. While, the lady of the lake, ancient maiden that she is, awaits the truth of all the stories and the legends and her dreams. And she will wait and wait. And she shall have her wish.
